Speaker’s Brief Bio:
Dr. John Yang
Dr. John Yang is a registered Doctor of TCM in British Columbia, Canada. From 2003 to 2014 he was the Dean and Clinic Director at the PCU College of Holistic Medicine, British Columbia. As an expert in the field, Dr. Yang has given many national and international presentations and lectures on TCM. He is the current first Vice-President at the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture of British Columbia (ATCMA) and is also the Chair of the Academic/Educational Committee of ATCMA. Dr. Yang is the current President of the Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Colleges of Canada and a committee member on the Standards Council of Canada, Canadian Advisory Committees for International Organization for Standardization for TCM. Dr. John Yang currently works at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University of British Columbia which is the first public university in BC offering TCM-Acupuncture program. He is the program developer and the Chair of TCM department.
Dr. Yang graduated from Hainan University Medical School, Haikou, China. He received his TCM training at Hainan Provincial Hospital of TCM, Haikou, China and a PhD from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.
Jason Tutt is a registered Acupuncturists in British Columbia. He is the current President of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture of British Columbia (ATCMA) and is also the Chair of the Work Safe BC Committee and has worked on the ICBC Committee since 2016. Jason Tutt met both ICBC representatives as well as Government representatives regarding ICBC coverage several times since 2016 and was part of the successful project to obtain ICBC coverage for all CTCMA registrants.
Jason Tutt graduated from PCU College and is also an instructor for the Acupoint and Regeneration Injection Association of BC (ARIABC) in the practice of point injection therapy.
Katie Hogg (ICBC Business Process Advisor)
Katie Hogg works at ICBC as a business process advisor. She advises stakeholders such as the ATCMA in how to best handle ICBC cases. She has been an important part of adding Acupuncture to ICBC coverage and will provide answers to complicated questions regarding ICBC coverage.
