ATCMA Mission

The British Columbia Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Practitioners (ATCMA) is committed to advocating for and promoting the interests of TCM practitioners in BC. We aim to be the collective voice of our members, providing guidance, support, and representation to strengthen their professional development and success. Through fostering collaboration, upholding high standards, and advocating for the value of TCM, we strive to elevate the profession, enhance public awareness and appreciation for the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and contribute to the well-being of our communities.

Real Advocacy

The ATCMA has an established record for improving the profession of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. 

We have worked with BC MSP to cover treatment for low-income families and with ICBC and WorkSafe BC to guarantee acupuncture coverage.

As practitioners ourselves, we know the importance of ongoing work to promote and advocate for our profession, work with regulators and government, and educate the public about what we do, all while we continue to offer professional development courses and find ways to help our members save money and access resources.

Our History

The ATCMA has been working since the merger of the QATCMA and the TCMABC in 1996. We continue our commitment to advocate for Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture across BC.

College Amalgamation

In June 2024. our original regulatory body (the CTCMA) merged with the colleges for RMTs, chiropractors, and naturopaths to become the new College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC). 

The ATCMA continues to work with our new college and the Ministry of Health as the voice of our profession.

How Long We Store Personal Data
User data will be stored for duration of your membership.

How We Protect Your Personal Data
In order to protect your security, we use the strongest available browser encryption and store all of our data on servers in secure facilities. All data is only accessible to our employees. Our employees are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and a breach of this agreement would result in the employee's termination.

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.

International Data Transfers
We transfer user personal data to the following countries:

  • Your country of location
  • Our web server (Mexico)

When we transfer user personal data we will protect that data as described in this Privacy Policy and comply with applicable legal requirements for transferring personal data internationally.

Children
We do not knowingly collect or use personal data from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 years of age, the personal data will be deleted as soon as possible. If a child under 13 years of age has provided us with personal data their parent or guardian may contact our privacy officer.

These terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions") govern the use of atma.org (the "Site"). This Site is owned and operated by ATCMA. This Site is an ecommerce website.

We reserve the right to modify, reject or cancel your order whenever it becomes necessary. If we cancel your order and have already processed your payment, we will give you a refund equal to the amount you paid. Subscriptions

Your subscription automatically renews and you will be automatically billed until we receive notification that you want to cancel the subscription.
