This seminar will focus on common age-related conditions, particularly cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease and cognitive decline.
Professor Wu will explain the core pathogenesis and clinical treatment strategies through the framework of Six Meridian Differentiation, while also extending the discussion to common functional concerns in older adults and overall vitality. The course will also explore the relationship between aging and the Eight Extraordinary Vessels, especially the dynamic rhythm and qi movement of the Yin Qiao and Yang Qiao vessels. Through both theoretical discussion and clinical application, participants will gain a deeper understanding of aging from the perspectives of Chinese medicine and Daoist thought, as well as practical insights into holistic regulation and healthy aging. Participants will receive access to review the course recordings for six months through the Wumen Medical App platform. About Professor Wu Xiongzhi Professor Wu Xiongzhi is a professor at Tianjin Medical University, a doctoral supervisor in oncology, and currently serves as Vice President of Tianjin Nankai Hospital.
He is also a visiting professor at the Chinese PLA General Hospital. Professor Wu was selected as a “New Century Excellent Talent” by China’s Ministry of Education and is recognized as a Tianjin 131 Innovative Talent. Professor Wu has devoted many years to the integration and innovation of Chinese medicine theory and clinical practice. He developed the clinical concept of “using the Six Meridians to unify the treatment of all diseases” and established an integrated medical framework combining acupuncture and herbal medicine, classical and modern knowledge, and Chinese and Western medical perspectives.
He is also the founder of the Wumen Acupuncture system, which draws from the academic traditions of Sun Simiao and Zhang Sanfeng and integrates his own extensive clinical experience. His system emphasizes meridian differentiation, point selection, and whole-body regulation. In addition to his clinical and academic work, Professor Wu founded Taihu Academy, where he has trained more than ten thousand students.
He has published numerous academic papers and books and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Traditional Medicine Research.
