ATCMA is continuing to communicate and meet regularly with ICBC about the Recovery Network program.
ATCMA is continuing to communicate and meet regularly with ICBC about the Recovery Network program. We have some clarifications to make regarding our last email and posting about this program. ATCMA continues our efforts to work collaboratively with ICBC, as it benefits all parties involved, including the public—our patients—who are in a motor vehicle accident and need our healthcare services.
- While you will be automatically part of the Recovery Network and agreeing to those terms if you already have an active Vendor Number and unless you opt out of the program, you will not automatically be listed on ICBC’s website. Instead, you will have the opportunity to request your practice and contact information to be listed on ICBC’s website on their Health Care Provider Locator page.
- We had previously stated: “Essentially, nothing has changed. ICBC has said that terms found on both the Acupuncture Program Guide and the Health Care Services Terms are the same as what you’ve already agreed to, if you have an ICBC Vendor Number and have been doing direct billing with ICBC.” However, to clarify, the terms are similar but not necessarily identical.
- We had written: “If you have been doing direct billing with ICBC, have an ICBC Vendor Number, and have gone through the reconciliation process for your vendor account, you will automatically be registered as part of the ICBC Recovery Network Program on March 22, 2025. This means that you will automatically agree to the terms listed in the Acupuncture Program Guide and Health Care Services Terms.” ICBC has corrected the second sentence to read: “This means that every time you log into the HCPIR/HCPP you will have to click to agree to the terms listed in the Health Care Services Terms.”
- We had written: “If you do not want to be enrolled in the ICBC Recovery Network Program, you will need to opt out. You will be able to do so starting on January 25, 2025 on ICBC’s website through their Health Care Vendor Application System. You will have until March 22, 2025 to do so. You can also opt out after that date, at any time, but any claims processed after March 22nd and prior to your opt-out date will still fall within the terms.” ICBC has corrected the last parts to read: “You will be able to do so starting on January 25, 2025 on ICBC’s website through their Health Care Vendor Application System. You can also opt out at any time, but any invoices processed after March 22nd and prior to your opt-out date will still fall within the terms.”
- ATCMA requested, but ICBC has confirmed that they currently have no plans to provide Chinese translations of their documents.
You can direct any questions about this program directly to recoveryprograms@icbc.com.
ATCMA members are also invited to join us to talk directly with ICBC via Zoom on Sunday February 9 at 10-11 a.m. Details to register coming soon. You will also need to submit any questions you have to info@atcma.org by February 3rd so that we can ensure that ICBC is able to address your concerns.
